Dufton village showfield, Dufton, near Appleby-in-Westmorland CA16 6DA in Appleby-in-Westmorland

Every August, last Saturday

Known as the Fellside Royal, Dufton's show dates from 1864 and sits under the Pennine escarpment near Appleby. The programme is broad for a village event: sheep and cattle, sheepdog trials, fell ponies, quoits, vintage vehicles, children's sports and a fell race. A good excuse to see one of the Eden Valley's prettiest villages on a busy day.

Dates are from the organiser. Always check their page before you travel.
